Pig's Trotters Soup With Soybean and Preserved Radish (菜脯黄豆猪手汤)

Do you like soup made from pig trotters? The most exquisite and visually stunning dish is pig trotters. Many Asian moms consume a lot of pig trotters after delivery , to speed up their body's recovery. Pig's trotters are actually a very healthy food for the body! My late mother and mother-in-law always liked to add peanuts to this soup. The smoothness of the pig's trotters and the aroma of the peanuts combine to create a delightful combination. Additionally, peanuts might increase blood vitality and colour. The soup tastes amazing. Pig's trotters are a popular food choice; however, they are high in fat and collagen.    How can this issue be avoided during cooking?  We need to blanch the pig's trotters to get rid of some of the fishy smell and the blood that is concealed in the bones . Don't overlook this step.  Other than blanching. I also add soybeans, pickled radish, and orange slices, which not only give an additional flavour to the soup but also he

Pork dumplings in Sour & Spicy soup (酸辣水饺)

Do you always cook with recipes? Or use the remaining bits and pieces from the refrigerator to cook. I found two torches of leftover ginger flowers in the refrigerator.   Thinking beyond nasi kerabu or asam pedas (sour and spicy) fish, I began to wonder what else I could prepare with these ginger flowers. I finally decided to go with the asam pedas dish because I still had some leftover lemongrass, I grow my own kesum leaves (Vietnamese coriander), and some of the filling for the dumplings that I had previously made was still preserved in a container. How about I twist it and make a Chinese Malaysian asam pedas dumplings? However, I am running out of asam paste. I usually make a large quantity of asam paste and store it in the refrigerator for later use. Now is the time to make some. To make asam pedas dish, the main ingredient is the asam paste and my asam paste does not leave much. I always make a big batch and keep some asam paste in my fridge for the next dish. It is time to

Concentrated tomato seafood soup

With this delectable shrimp tomato soup made with scrumptious shrimp, squid, and fresh tomatoes, weeknight dinners just got easier! It's so easy to make, you could have dinner on the table in no time! As soon as the soup is served, the aroma of the fresh seafood is strong and fragrant, penetrating the soup very nicely. The refreshing and sweet tomatoes in the pot or wok make the soup thick, soft, and rich, which also serves to balance off the seafood's strong flavour. Any variety of tomatoes will do, but for the finest (and sweetest) flavour, use the ripest, reddest ones you can find. A good base ensures every soup starts well.   Since  I'll be making this soup with squid and shrimps. Thus, the shrimps stock made from the leftover heads of prawns is even more delicious!    The shrimpy taste is excellent. That will be added to the broth along with a ton of taste and shrimpiness. You are going to sauteing the shrimp head until all the residual water evaporates and then you

Salty Glutinous Rice Balls(咸汤圆)

On the night of the winter solstice, every household is having dinner with their family members. Just like the Chinese New Year and the Mid-Autumn Festival, make dumplings, make glutinous rice balls, and have a big meal. It is implying reunion and happiness for the whole family. It's customary to have glutinous rice balls (Tangyuan 汤圆 ) on the winter solstice. Tangyuan is a must-have food for the winter solstice. It is a round dessert made of glutinous rice flour. There is a folk saying that “you will be one year older after eating glutinous rice balls”. Even restaurants also serve glutinous rice balls as a promotional menu on that day.   On the dining table, Cantonese treat sweet glutinous rice balls seem to dominate.   Both of my parents are Cantonese, yet my mother never makes sweet "tangyuan" on this day; instead, she always makes a pot of salty glutinous rice balls. The filling is not wrapped in glutinous rice balls, but glutinous rice is rolled into balls and bo

Turmeric Chicken Soup

Ginger is a common vegetable. In the kitchen, it is customary. TURMERIC, however, is a member of the ginger family. You might not have realized it. Chinese traditional medicine and seasoning both use turmeric. Even the curry paste used for curry chicken contains turmeric powder. Other common turmeric meals include turmeric congee, turmeric fried rice, and turmeric pork ribs. The most traditional dish is chicken soup with turmeric. It is a recipe for turmeric chicken soup that boosts immunity and keeps your body feeling energized. Turmeric is a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant spice that gives this soup its beautiful yellow colour. I'm going to share a chicken soup with turmeric in it. This chicken soup is quite simple to make and fills the house with the delightful fragrances of traditional Thai herbs. This soup is one of my favourite's because you can just dump everything into a pot and let it cook. It can be quite easy to overkill the turmeric, giving the soup a too-m

Bean curd, fresh corns and king oyster mushrooms thick soup

I would like to share a wholesome soup with you today. Bean curd, fresh corn, and king oyster mushrooms make up most of the ingredients. Although there are foods that are nourishing, none of them are ideal. Consider tofu as an example; people genuinely "love it" due to its silky, smooth, melt-in-your-mouth flavour. It contains calcium and is high in the protein of excellent grade and is cholesterol-free. But there is a slight nutritional flaw in tofu as well. Its insufficient amount of thionine, an important amino acid, prevents the body from utilizing it to its fullest capacity. Thankfully, eating corn can offset this tofu deficiency. Tofu lacks lysine and serine, whereas corn is abundant in thionine. Having both at once can significantly increase the rate of nutritional absorption. You might as well consume these two types of food together because they are both readily available in the market. The next ingredient is king oyster mushroom. The stipe tissue, which is parti
