Braised pork belly with radish

My daughter once enquired about the fastest, easiest, healthiest, and tastiest way to prepare braised pork. The fewer dishes that need to be washed, the better. She needed a recipe with braised pork that could be made by simply combining all the ingredients in a pot and letting them simmer. When I give it some thought, I realize that she would enjoy this braised port belly with radish. Because of the ginger, garlic, dried chilli, and star anise, this meal has a lot of flavours. I like to use a lot of ginger to flavour the pork. Due to the lengthy cooking process, the ginger that has been simmered is excellent.  As the meat cooked slowly over low heat. The smell of meat permeated the kitchen and was very alluring. When the meat is done being braised! Goodness!! It has me completely drooling. Pick up a piece of meat with a pair of chopsticks and take a bite. Fat but not greasy. It melts in your mouth and leaves a lingering flavour. After being cooked, the radish in particular tastes

Cempedak orange smoothie

What is cempedak? And how does cempedak taste? A tree species similar to the jackfruit is called cempedak. However, when people use the term "cempedak," they frequently refer to the fruit which has an odd, spiky appearance. Malaysia, Indonesia, Southern Thailand, and Papua New Guinea are countries that are particularly known for this cempedak fruit. While jackfruit is enormous and oval in shape, cempedak is tubular and roughly the size of a rugby ball that has been compressed. Jackfruit and cempedak are quite similar to each other. When these fruits are fully mature, their flesh has similar hues that range from light yellow to slightly orange. However, cempedak flesh is more fibrous, fragrant, and slightly sweeter than jackfruit. Cempedak has a light pineapple flavour with a tinge of banana. But what distinguishes a ripe cempedak from a jackfruit is its wonderful honey nectar flavour. In Bahasa Melayu, jackfruit is referred as as nangka in Malaysia. What is the English nam

Simple and delicious broccoli rice

White rice can quickly become a more complex and distinctive part of any meal with a little amount of extra effort by adding various seasonings, experimenting with cooking liquids, and attempting other methods of flavouring. Some like to add butter and salt, which can help make the rice fluffier and richer.  Some add pandan leaves to the rice's cooking liquid to make it much more fragrant. Some like to substitute water with chicken broth to cook the rice. Some add meat to rice just like Chinese sausage fried rice. Today I would like to share with you how to make this delicious broccoli rice. My family and I frequently consume broccoli as a vegetable. Broccoli is a vegetable high in nutrients and protein. It has a delicate texture, is sweet and delectable, and is simple to digest. Eating for kids can boost immunity, support kids' growth, and development, and be very good for maintaining healthy bone growth, protecting eyesight, and enhancing memory. Des

Bean curd, fresh corns and king oyster mushrooms thick soup

I would like to share a wholesome soup with you today. Bean curd, fresh corn, and king oyster mushrooms make up most of the ingredients. Although there are foods that are nourishing, none of them are ideal. Consider tofu as an example; people genuinely "love it" due to its silky, smooth, melt-in-your-mouth flavour. It contains calcium and is high in the protein of excellent grade and is cholesterol-free. But there is a slight nutritional flaw in tofu as well. Its insufficient amount of thionine, an important amino acid, prevents the body from utilizing it to its fullest capacity. Thankfully, eating corn can offset this tofu deficiency. Tofu lacks lysine and serine, whereas corn is abundant in thionine. Having both at once can significantly increase the rate of nutritional absorption. You might as well consume these two types of food together because they are both readily available in the market. The next ingredient is king oyster mushroom. The stipe tissue, which is parti

Sweet potatoes shortbread apple tarts

What is an apple galette? A buttery pie-style crust is used to make an apple galette, which is then topped with a generous amount of sweetened fresh apples and baked until the fruit is soft, and the pastry is gorgeously golden brown and incredibly flaky. What distinguishes an apple galette from an apple pie or an apple tart? Pies are homey. A fancy tart. A galette strikes a balance between the two whiles being simpler than either. A galette is distinguished by the fact that it is a free-form pastry that is baked without the support of a pie pan or tart ring. It is a traditional French apple tart that is usually a hit with the crowd. It is made with a handmade sweet shortbread crust pastry, a simple apple sauce filling, and thinly sliced fresh apples. When making pies and tarts, the crusts are crucial. While we frequently only consider them to be a shell for a filling, we also need to consider how their flavour and texture will complement the filling.  I have been making sho

Crispy meatballs with glass noodles

A meatball consists mainly of ground meat, salt, pepper, and/or other spices rolled into a ball that can be baked, fried, sautéed, or boiled. It is remarkable how different countries produce meatball dishes and how adaptable they are. Meatballs vary from location to region in terms of marinating, shape, type of ground meat, and even type of flour to use.The first meatball recipe I learned after getting married was Kota Belud's meatballs.  My hubby is from the town of Kota Belud.  I'll never forget the first Chinese New Year after being married. Fried meatballs were being served on the table at a different family gathering for the first three days of the new year. When I first had this meatball, I really enjoyed it. A single mouthful contains the flavours of taro and minced red onion.  But today I am going to share another version meatballs. I am using glass noodles to replace the taro. This meatballs contain glass noodles inside and outside  of them. The meatballs are not coa

Soursop Orange Smoothie

Do you realize that soursop is the most unusual and exotic fruit and that it makes a fantastic smoothie? Durian Belanda is another name for soursop. Soursop or Durian Belanda is a fruit that has no resemblance whatsoever to the durian, a fruit that is commonly grown in Southeast Asia. Although durian has hard and sharp thorns, this fruit may have soft and short ones. How did this fruit come to be mistaken for the durian? The Portuguese were the first Europeans to set foot on Indonesian land, and they were also the ones who, along with the Spanish, discovered the soursop in Central and South America. It was on their ships that the soursop made its way to Indonesia. Belanda refers to the Dutch, who would rule the islands for the following 300 years. That was how it was named Durian Belanda. Soursop is a type of tropical fruit. It has no smell, and the pulp is milky white, sweet, tart, and juicy, with black seeds scattered throughout the
