Harry Potter pumpkin juice

I recently paid a visit to my brother. My sister-in-law wanted to share half of the pumpkin she got from her mother before I left. I initially mistook it for a regular pumpkin. I was surprised by the size of the pumpkin when she brought it out of the fridge. It was a circular pumpkin with a 16" diameter. Have you ever seen a pumpkin this large? It was my very first time. I'm not sure how I will get this half-sized pumpkin finished. When I discovered this Harry Potter pumpkin juice, I was taken aback.

Have you tried the Harry Potter pumpkin juice that was made at Hogwarts? I haven't. I choose to make my own version. A Malaysian version of Harry Potter pumpkin juice. I'm not sure what the taste of the original pumpkin juice is like. But this homemade Harry Potter pumpkin juice is my absolute favourite.

Some of the recipes call for cooking on the stove, while others suggest mixing all the ingredients in a large pitcher and serving cold or hot.

I used to make pumpkin sago dessert, which is an Asian delicacy that can easily be cooked on the stove. What differentiates the Asian pumpkin sago dessert from Harry Potter pumpkin juice? Let us contrast and compare these two.

Sugar and liquid must be added to the pumpkin puree in both recipes. Simply said, it is a different kind of liquid. Coconut milk is used in Asian pumpkin sago dessert, while apple juice or apple cider is used in Harry Potter pumpkin juice. The most significant difference is that the former contains sago while the latter contains spice.

What is the difference between apple juice and apple cider?

As previously indicated, HP's pumpkin juice contains apple juice or apple cider. This ‘cider' should not be tampered with. It is unrelated to vinegar or alcohol. There are two types of apple cider. Apple juice that has not been filtered should be refrigerated. The adult variant of apple cider is called hard cider.

Is it necessary to use all the apple cider?

I followed the recipe correctly, but there was far too much apple juice. So, the flavour is more like apple pie in liquid form, with a hint of pumpkin flavour and cinnamon and nutmeg thrown in for good measure. I am craving more pumpkin flavour. I used half the apple juice and half the water to boil the pumpkin with those spices in a pot. The pumpkin flavour and spice will penetrate the water this way. The pumpkin juice should be thicker than regular juice. Add a little extra apple juice if the mixture is too thick. 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar as a final touch for a fantastic immune-boosting beverage.

What are the best ways to serve and keep pumpkin juice?

Teenagers are always served this refreshing drink cold. It can be served warm or hot, though. Harry Potter's pumpkin juice keeps well in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. It should be kept in an airtight bottle or container. Shake well before serving.

INGREDIENTS

500g fresh pumpkin, sliced

500ml water

500ml apple cider/apple juice

1/4 cup brown sugar

20g fresh ginger, sliced

1 cinnamon stick

1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

2 tsp apple cider vinegar

METHOD

1. Combine all the ingredients in a pot, bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the pumpkins have softened.

2. Remove the pot from the heat and discard the ginger and cinnamon stick from the pot.  In a blender, puree the pumpkin mixture with the apple cider vinegar until smooth. Taste to suit your preferences.

3. Serve it hot or cool entirely before chilling in the refrigerator.

I hope my guide is useful to you. Try this tasty pumpkin juice and feel the magic.

Dong Po Rou (东坡肉)

Dong Po Rou (东坡肉) – wine braised pork belly. It’s rich and savoury, tender that melts into your mouth. Traditionally, the pork belly is pan-fried before being braised or stewed for one to one and a half hours on low heat. Some of the recipes even call for steaming for an additional half an hour after stewing. It is very time-consuming. But as you are aware, I enjoy making recipes simpler without compromising the taste. You, too, I'm sure. Therefore, I skipped the pan-frying step and proceeded directly to braising the pork after blanching it, and then continued to cook with a pressure cooker. Don't worry; the dish's flavour remains unaffected. I'm hoping this simplified method may come in handy for your regular cooking. Trim off the edges of the pork and cut it into 3x3 cubes. Tie cooking twine around each cube. This will assist the cubes in keeping their form while cooking. If the pork that you bought is at the mid portion of the belly is ideal, there is a nice bala...

Canned braised pork belly (罐头扣肉)

A must-have dish for the Lunar New Year is steamed braised pork ( 扣肉 ). Some people enjoy making braised pork with yam, while others prefer to use preserved veggies. The key to making braised pork is to boil the meat first, then deep-fry it, and finally steam it. The sauces are the key to enhancing the flavour of the braised pork with either yam or preserved veggies. Of course, choosing pork that is half-fat and lean pork belly tastes the best is also crucial.   You can choose how thinly you want the pork slices. I sliced my pork to a thinness of 10 to 15 mm thinness.  Another crucial tip is to just use wine and no water when preparing the braised pork. I'm using Shaoxing wine, and it's been proven that the more wine you use, the tastier and more fragrant the meat will be and that the meat will remain fragrant after stewing. As I mentioned, this braised pork needs to boil first, then be deep-fried.  For those who find frying meat is very troublesome , you can w...

Ginkgo Bean Curd and Barley Sugar dessert (白果腐竹薏米糖水)

Do you miss this delicacy of Ginkgo Bean Curd and Barley Sugar dessert? When did you most recently enjoy or make it? Ginkgo, commonly known as ginkgo. It is very popular when used to cook bean curd sheets. I went to a dessert house two days ago. The waitress was serving this dessert to a young lady who was sitting next to me. I overheard that lady comment about that dessert is different from other dessert houses. So, I give it a go. I am not sure how it was different from other dessert houses. But it is different from what I had before. It is creamy, smooth, and rich in flavour. So, I am going to copycat this, and my family loves it so much. Especially youngsters who do not like any small chunks to chew on with liquid dessert. This dessert can be cooked on the stove or pressure cooker. There's a catch, though: Yuba sheets or bean curd sheet, also known as Fu Chuk, come in a variety of forms.   If you opt for making this dessert over a stove, need to choose the kind that disso...
